Bangkok’s House Samyan cinema will show two masterpieces by Alfred Hitchcock this month: Vertigo and Psycho. The Alfred Hitchcock: Master of Suspense screenings are part of this year’s House Classics season, and the theme this time is The Edge.
Psycho will be shown on 21st, 22nd, 23rd, 27th, 29th, and 30th August. It was previously shown at Scala in 2016, at Cinema Winehouse in 2018, and at Bangkok Screening Room in 2019. (Psycho will be shown at House in its uncut version, following its restoration in 2019.)
Vertigo will be screened on 20th, 22nd, 28th, 29th, and 30th August, with an extra screening on 5th September. It was voted the greatest film of all time in the 2012 Sight and Sound critics’ poll. It was screened at the Thai Film Archive in 2021, at Cinema Winehouse in 2018, and at Bangkok Screening Room in 2016.
