Bangkok Dystopia

Bangkok Dystopia
Short Film Orbit
Wildtype 2018

Filmvirus and Doc Club are collaborating this evening on a programme of short films for Wildtype 2018. The programme, titled Rebel Without a Cause (in homage to the James Dean classic), will be screened at Doc Club and Pub in Bangkok. The highlight is Patipol Teekayuwat’s Bangkok Dystopia (บางกอกดิสโทเปีย), set on the night of the 2014 coup, in which soldiers patrolling the streets intimidate a teenage boy and a sex worker who find themselves stranded after a curfew has been imposed. The film was previously shown at the 21st Short Film and Video Festival, as part of the Short Film Orbit programme on 23rd September 2017 at the Thai Film Archive in Salaya.
