The New Age of the Kings: Modern Monarchies in Malaysia and the World, by Paridah Samad, has been banned from distribution in Thailand. Police are authorised to confiscate and destroy any imported copies of the book, which was published in Malaysia. The ban was announced in the Royal Gazette (ราชกิจจานุเบกษา) yesterday (vol. 133, no. 93, p. 43). The ban relates specifically to a chapter titled Thailand: Colossally Popular, as it contravenes the lèse-majesté law.
