The new album ประเทศไทย 2549 บันทึกความรู้สึกศิลปินต่อเเผ่นดินไทย (‘Thailand 2006: a record of artists’ feelings towards the country’) opens with Yuenyong Opakul’s song เว้นวรรค (‘take a break’), the last lines of which imply that Thaksin Shinawatra should resign as PM to solve the country’s political impasse: “ประเทศไทยนั้น อยู่ที่คนหนึ่งคน... เว้นวรรค!” (‘in Thailand, it’s up to one person... take a break!’). Yuenyong, Thailand’s most famous rock star, is a founder member of the band Carabao; the track also appears on his latest solo album, ตะวันตกดิน (‘sunset’).
