The 2008 edition of Steven Jay Schneider's 1001 Movies You Must See Before You Die has now been published, marking the book's fifth edition. As with previous revisions, the only changes have been to films from the past ten years.
This time around, City Of God and Kill Bill I have fortunately been reinstated, having been deleted from the 2006 edition. Talk To Her, removed from the 2007 version, has also thankfully been restored for the new edition. The Lord Of The Rings I-III have now been incorporated into a single entry.

And it would seem Passion of the Christ is the other to be reinstated?
Am sorry to see Lost in Translation and United 93 go.
3-Iron was my 'movie of the year' in 2005; always pleased to see an Aussie film get a mention with Rabbit Proof Fence; and I guess its hard to argue with No Country, Atonement and There Will Be Blood although a little perspective over the next few years will, as always, be instructive.
I think Atonement might be dropped after a year or two, but No Country For Old Men and There Will Be Blood should be permanent.
I wonder how much input Steven Jay Schneider has on the list these days? Presumably not much.
