The 2nd May issue of Newsweek Japan features a list titled The Best 100 Movies. The list was selected by a group of actors and directors, including Martin Scorsese and Woody Allen, who each chose a handful of their favourite films.

Newsweek Japan produced a similar list four years ago (The Best 100), for their 30th April 2008 issue. That list included Paprika, Letters From Iwo Jima, Tampopo, Lawrence Of Arabia, The Godfather, American Graffiti, All The President's Men, Star Wars IV: A New Hope, Apocalypse Now, ET: The Extra-Terrestrial, Stand By Me, Out Of Africa, The Last Emperor, Gung Ho, Dances With Wolves, The Silence Of The Lambs, JFK, Magnolia, Being John Malkovich, Monsoon Wedding, City Of God, Whale Rider, Finding Nemo, 21 Grams, American Splendor, and Sex, Lies, & Videotape.
