100 Must-See Films

100 Must-See Films
On 7th July, the Sunday People newspaper (a UK tabloid) published 100 Must-See Films, an eight-page supplement listing “the top 100 films of all time.” The list, compiled by Karen Rockett, does not include any silent or foreign-language entries.

After a quick scan, looks like zero women too?

Right, but it’s not really a serious canonical list, it’s just a tabloid page-filler. I don’t give this one any credence, but I try to collect every greatest-film list.

Fair enough. Have you considered making your own Dateline Bangkok top 100?

I also like this BBC top 100 foreign language film list from last year: http://www.bbc.com/culture/story/20181029-the-100-greatest-foreign-language-films

I have. :)
Top 10: http://blog.matthewhunt.com/2012/12/10-essential-films.html
Top 50: http://blog.matthewhunt.com/2015/11/50-greatest-films.html
And this page cites precisely 500 films:

The BBC did an excellent 21st-century top 100:

Very solid lists! Nice to see Stan Brakhage in there too.
The big list needs a dash of Michael Mann and Sofia Coppola I suspect.
