A woman was arrested in Chiang Mai on Friday, after she posed for a photograph while wearing a t-shirt with the slogan "ตึงบ่ะเอา". The message translates as 'I reject that', a reference to the upcoming referendum on the junta's proposed constitution. Under the Referendum Act, campaigning against the charter is illegal.
Police confiscated political t-shirts in 2014, and earlier this year bowls and calendars distributed by Pheu Thai were seized. The Election Commission has declared that some leaflets published by the New Democracy Movement are also illegal.
