The White Elephant Art Award

The White Elephant Award is an annual exhibition hosted by BACC, and the inaugural theme is (naturally) Our Beloved King. The exhibition opened on 14th June, and will close on 29th July.

It's essentially propaganda, like Hosanna To Our King, though one exhibit, by Pratuang Kumpad, is worth highlighting. Pratuang's trompe l'oeil painting is predictably titled Long Live The King, though it creates an impressive illusion of three-dimensionality. (A Trick Of The Eye is a well-illustrated introduction to the trompe l'oeil style.)
