Pika

Pika
An exhibition by the art collective Chim^Pom was cancelled recently by the Hiroshima City Museum of Contemporary Art, after a stunt by Chim^Pom caused controversy in the city. On 21st October, the artists hired a plane and wrote the Japanese word 'pika' ('flash', a reference to the bomb) in smoke above Hiroshima. The sky-writing was planned and executed without the knowledge of the Hiroshima Museum or the local authorities, and the Museum announced three days later that Chim^Pom's exhibition would be cancelled.
